MEET OUR COACHES
BS; Head Coach; Movement Specialist
Coach Carida is a 1984 graduate of Lander University in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree. He has been a Strength and Conditioning coach for over 25 years.
Coach Carida partnered with TEST Sports Clubs in New Jersey in 2002. As head of TEST Sports Research and Development team he has had the opportunity to be part of their 3 year mentorship program with Athletes’ Performance in Tempe, Arizona and work closely with the administration in staff orientation and training.
Coach Carida’s resume includes a stint as an Adjunct Professor of Exercise Studies at Union County College in New Jersey, coaching High School and College athlete’s from a variety of sports including wrestling, baseball, football, fencing, basketball and track and he has served as Strength and Conditioning Coach for Centenary College's Baseball Team in Hackettstown, NJ.
Coach Carida copyrighted his exercise and nutrition program, Lean-4-Life in 1995 and it has been very successful with all of the populations he has administered it with. It is now used as an integral part of TEST Sports Clubs nutrition programming. Coach Carida organizes and runs his own youth summer sport conditioning camps out of Hackettsown, NJ. He also serves as the Strength and Conditioning coach with the Tiger Wrestling Club in Hackettstown, where 2 of his sons wrestle.
Coach Carida and his wife, Migdalia have 3 sons, Anthony, Alex and Andrew. His daughter, Nicole will be attending Rutgers University in the Fall of 2007.
BS; Assistant Coach; Yoga Master Instructor
Mary Cerria
Mary is a Kripalu Yoga Instructor, PHI Pilates Instructor, USA Track & Field Coach, American College of Sports Medicine Heath & Fitness Instructor and a graduate of West Chester University (BS).
Mary loves helping clients achieve their goals. She believes that when the mind and body come together anything is possible. Combining mental and physical training is the best way to maximize performance.
Mary is a veteran in the fitness industry. She owned/operated her own facility for several years before selling it and moving into corporate wellness. She directed the wellness program for Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company. She returned to commercial fitness to pilot the first pilates program in northwest New Jersey, run a women’s only facility and join the Xercise Institute in NJ, as an ACE exam prep trainer. In 2004 Mary began her own business consulting, personal training and coaching. In 2007 Mary was invited to be a Master Instructor with Mad Dogg athletics in their newly developed SpinPilates ® program.
Mary has helped clients prepare for many athletic events, (running, cycling, hiking) ascend mountains (Kilimanjaro, Ranier), recover from major heart surgeries, coach women through pre/post natal seasons, and train for life events (i.e. weddings, reunions) she has even used her yoga skills to assist with natural baby delivery.
Mary lives in Northwest New Jersey with her husband, dog and kitty. She’s an active outdoorbetty who loves to play outside any time and any season.
Coach Toto is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University in East Stroudsburg Pennsylvania where he obtained his Masters Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
Coach Toto has worked as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist at various hospitals where he rehabs, trains, and enhances overall health and wellness for special populations. These populations include, cardiac, persons with diabetes, morbidly obese (children and adult), and many other individuals with limitations.
Pete’s other experiences include working with athletes. He has coached and trained players at many levels ranging from five year olds to high school athletes. Coach Toto’s true passion is working on performance and technique with baseball players to help enhance overall performance.
Coach Toto currently works at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and North Jersey Cardiac Rehab/Broad Street Fitness. He resides in Flanders New Jersey where he lives with his fiancé Diana.
BS; Assistant Coach; Movement Specialist
Coach Rankin is a graduate of William Paterson University where he obtained his degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. Scott brings with him over 10 years experience in the coaching industry.
Coach Rankin is former a strength and conditioning specialist at TEST Sports Clubs in Bedminster NJ. While working at TEST coach Rankin was part of their elite 3 year mentorship program with the “world class” Athletes’ Performance in Tempe, Arizona. Prior to training in athlete based setting coach Rankin also obtained experience as an exercise specialist with St.Joseph’s hospital where he specialized in exercise programming for a clientele with high incidence of exercise limitations.
Coach Rankin is also a former high school and youth football coach. His coaching background includes head freshman coach and assistant varsity coach at Wayne Valley High School in Wayne NJ and also several years as a youth football and track coach for the Wayne Police Athletic League.
Coach Rankin currently teaches Physical Education and Health in the South River school system.
BS; Assistant Coach; Speed Specialist
Osei is a graduate of Montclair State University where he was a four year track and field athlete and also played two years on the Red Hawk’s men’s soccer team. Osei has a degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education. Osei “cut his teeth” in the TEST Sports Clubs system of training working closely with some of the finest Strength and Speed coaches in the industry.
Osei was a New Jersey All State Track and Field performer at Old Bridge High School. He was a two time Middlesex County Champion in the 110HH and also took third place in the 55HH in the New Jersey Meet of Champions. Osei was a two time NJAC champion in the 55HH and 110HH champion. While at Montclair State Osei was selected to the All ECAC team twice and All NJAC team six times. Osei has served as an assistant coach for the Belleville High School track and field team. He has also worked with the Special Olympics.
